Multilingual Education in MA

This Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 7:00-8:30PM, Citizens for Public Schools is hosting "Multilingual Education in MA: Learning from the past and present to empower future learners," the second of three free virtual sessions exploring multilingual education in Massachusetts. 

MABE's own Executive Director, Phyllis Hardy, is a featured speaker.

The goals of this series are to:

  • Understand the current MA political and policy landscape for multilingual learners (MLL) and the resulting challenges facing them.
  • Learn about effective programming for MLLs that uphold their native languages and cultures, while learning academics and English.
  • Discuss the challenges of (re)building a robust bilingual educator pipeline and promising practices.

Bilingual Hub Dialogues

This Friday, October 25, 2024 at 4-6:30PM, the Western MA Blingual Hub is hosting the last Bilingual Hub Dialogue to foster meaningful connections between current teachers/students and alumni. This free event is designed to cultivate a space for dialogue, networking, and collaboration among teachers committed to driving positive change in education and beyond.

This "conversation for change" will be held at the UMass Amherst Center at Springfield, the location of MABE's 2024 Annual Dual Language Bilingual Education Conference
