Nurturing the Growth of Dual Language Bilingual Education Programs: Self-Assessment Retreat

El Enriquecer, or “the enrichment,” is a retreat for existing Dual Language Bilingual Education (DLBE) programs to self-assess, identify areas of improvement, and develop action plans to strengthen and improve program implementation. MABE is an approved facilitator of El Enriquecer, a program developed by Dual Language Education New Mexico (DLeNM).

El Enriquecer consists of two days of intensive training and planning for school teams using The Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education.

The goal is for school teams to leave El Enriquecer with a clear idea of where their program is with respect to best practices and the next steps needed to improve program quality.

 Includes:

  • Two-day (10 hour) self-assessment retreat
  • Program self-assessment using The Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education
  • Intensive planning for strengthening DLBE implementation
  • Training and facilitation by veteran DLBE educators
  • Additional planning resources from MABE

    Outcomes:

    • Written summary report of the retreat with recommendations for next steps
    • Action Plan with detailed self-identified deliberate recommendations for strengthening and improving program implementation, as well as nurturing the continued growth toward program excellence

Following El Enriquecer, MABE can provide continued Technical Assistance and/or Professional Development.

Please contact Phyllis Hardy, Executive Director, for further information or to request a service.
