Southern New England Regional Conference for Dual Language Programs

The purpose of this conference is to create the opportunity for dual language educators to network and collaborate, increase our professional development, share instructional methods that promote bilingualism and multiculturalism, disseminate current research, and learn new ways to reach out to families and communities.  This conference is a wonderful example of building relationships with colleagues in the field of dual language education throughout the region to address our common goals.

Parking is available in three parking lots at the school 1) Behind the fire station, 2) In back of building 3) In front of building by gym and on circular driveway.  Parking is also available on street in front of school. Finally, you can make a right as you are coming up Smithfield Ave from Rt 95 onto Legion Drive for parking lots near fields.

Keynote Speaker: Alexandra Guilamo

 The keynote address will introduce strategies that help teachers include matters of race, bias, justice and identity in their planning and teaching, and why these cornerstones are essential for dual language students to achieve academic success.

    Bilingual Student Art & Writing Exhibition!

    Inviting bilingual students of all ages from across New England to share with others why it is important to them to be bilingual and bicultural, and how it has shaped their lives.  They can express this through works of art or writing. All entries will be displayed at the 2019 Southern New England Regional Dual Language Conference at the Nathanael Greene School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Saturday, March 23, 2019.

    School Visit Registration Information:

    • Fee: $25 per visitor
    • Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Most tours have limits of 8-12 participants.
    • One person can register and pay for multiple attendees. Payment Methods: Check, Credit Card or Purchase Order accepted for groups of 5 or more.
    • Schedule may be subject to change. All registered participants will receive a confirmation email the week before their scheduled tour. In the case of inclement weather, please check the MABE website and your email.
    • In the event that you are unable to attend a registered session, please let MABE know so someone else can take your place.
