Teaching science and engineering in the elementary bilingual and dual language class

Teaching science and engineering in the elementary bilingual and dual language class: Case studies and reflection from participants in an NSF-sponsored research study.

Teachers from bilingual and dual language Spanish programs in Massachusetts and in Puerto Rico will share their reflections and best practices on science and engineering teaching practices in the Spanish class. This workshop will include time for Q&A, models from the classrooms (remote and in-person), and time for school teams to provide each other feedback and/or discuss how to incorporate these practices into curricular units.

Audience: For elementary teachers and coaches in Dual Language Education programs.  This session will be open only to the NSF participants and will allow them to provide feedback to each other about their unit implementation, discuss challenges and opportunities, with the goal of improving their unit planning and implement it again in Fall 2021
