Dual Language Program Exploration

Technical Assistance

The purpose of the Dual Language Education (DLE) Program Exploration is to engage varied stakeholders with exploring the district’s or school’s motivation and readiness to implement a Dual Language Education Program.  Technical assistance is provided over an extended period of time through conference calls, emails and up to three face-to-face meetings with identified leaders or task force members.

DLE Program Exploration is based on the research-based Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education (2018), Strand 1 Program Structure, and the Dual Language Program Planner, A Guide for Designing and Implementing Dual Language Programs.

Administrators, teachers, and staff in DLE programs must understand and support the mission and goals of the program. To ensure this, all program personnel must have a deep understanding of the theoretical rationale of immersion education and must be able to implement the chosen program model with fidelity and articulate it to others.
